Obituary

Paula Jean Bloczynski, age 71, of Tower, and formerly of Cook and Kansas City, died Friday, July 24, 2009 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born October 2, 1937 in Kansas City, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Swanson. She attended school in Kansas City and went on to receive her BA in English from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO. She was married to Charles Edmond "Chuck" Bloczynski on February 27, 1960 in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Kansas City.
Paula was the Owner of the Tower News, and the Life of Riley Resort, and she worked as the PR Director of Missouri Valley College. She was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church, the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Dept. and Auxiliary, the Greenwood Twp. Board, and the Lake Vermilion Sportsman's Club. Paula also worked on Paul Wellstone's Campaign, sang in church and community choirs, and was actively interested in the Girl Scouts and the Humane Society.
She is survived by her brother: Charles Swanson of Kansas City, and a host of friends. Her parents and Husband: Chuck preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the 11:00 funeral service Wednesday, July 29, 2009 in St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tower. Pastor Bill Evans will officiate. Interment will be in the Birch Hill Cemetery, in Buyck. Memorials are preferred to: the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Dept., the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts, or the Humane Society.
