Raymond Jonas Wallin, age 92, lifelong resident of Virginia died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Essentia Health – Virginia. He was born March 21, 1926 in Virginia the son of Fred and Hilda (Mattson) Wallin. He was a graduate of Virginia High School, and went on to attend Virginia Jr. College. A Veteran of the US Navy, Raymond served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII.

Raymond worked as a clerk at the Virginia Public Utilities, and also as a laborer at Staver Foundry. He was a member of the VFW. Raymond enjoyed spending time at the cabin he built on Lake Vermilion, woodworking, fishing, and hunting.

Raymond is survived by his children: David (Sandy) Wallin of Lake Vermilion – Tower, and Marjorie Wallin of Chisholm; grandchildren: Sheila Wallin of Wyoming, MN, Sara Bevan of Ramsey, MN, Sandra (Jose) Barrios of Monument, CO, Katie (Jeremy Lockwood) Richards of Virginia, MN, and Nick (Lisa) Richards of Virginia, MN; great-grandchildren: Skyler, Michaela, Logan, Payton, Kaylynn, Tyler, Ashlyn, Noah, and Vivian; extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Lorraine in 2017; sons: Glenn and Mark; siblings: Margaret Marvin, Helen Tscholl, and Fred Wallin, Jr.

Visitation will be from 10:30 am until the 11:30 am funeral service Monday, November 19, 2018, at the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home Chapel. Kari Olson, SAM, will be the officiant. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
