Reino Hans Wilbert Wiinanen, age 86, of Chisholm and formerly of Hibbing, Sturgeon Lake, and Cherry died Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Aspen Grove in Chisholm. He was born January 13, 1929, in Cherry the son of John and Nellie (Juola) Wiinanen. He graduated from Cherry High School in 1947. Reino was united in marriage to Sally Bispala on June 25, 1949 in Hibbing.
Reino was self-employed at the Wiinanen Dairy in Iron. He also retired from the maintenance department at the Hibbing Hospital. Additionally, he assisted his wife at Sally's Bridal Fashions. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hibbing where he served as a Deacon. He enjoyed fishing – summer and winter, watching football, and spending time at the lake with family and friends.
Reino is survived by his wife: Sally; his children: Beth (John) Carpenter of Hibbing, Paul (Caren) Wiinanen of Maple Grove, MN, and Lisa (Larry) Ollila of Blaine, MN; his grandchildren: Tera (Mike) Olson, Travis (Jen) Carpenter, Talia (Dan) Sandys, Bobbi Wiinanen, Rachel Wiinanen, Jane (Aaron) Nienaber, and Paul (Kris) Ollila; his great grandchildren: Ruby, Lily, and Evan; his sister: Helmi Packa of Cherry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Reino was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Eino, Andrew, Elmer, Arnie, and Ed; and his sisters: Ida and Aileen.
Visitation will be from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday, January 22, 2015, at the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home in Hibbing. Visitation will continue Friday, January 23, 2015, from 10:00 A. M. until the 11:00 A. M. Funeral Service at the First Baptist Church in Hibbing. The Reverend Greg Stevens will officiate. Interment will be in the Cherry Cemetery.
