Renold "Renny"
Pettinelli
Mar 3, 1933 — Dec 3, 2017
Renold Angelo Pettinelli, 84, of Virginia, died Sunday December 3, 2017, in Cornerstone Villa in Buhl.
He was born March 3, 1933 in Virginia, the son of Fulvio and Emma Pettinelli. He married Helen Gregorich on December 27, 1952 and was a lifelong resident of Virginia. Renold and Helen provided a home for family and friends alike, where there was always an open door and a fresh pot of coffee.
Family fellowship was very important to Renold. He built the family's cabins at Bass Lake and Lake Vermillion and extended the Pettinelli hospitality even further. He hosted yearly family reunions, featuring a pig roast and regularly took part in the weekly family coffee gatherings at the Village Inn.
He also enjoyed playing cards and teasing anyone that would let him. He volunteered for the Salvation Army in the Soup Kitchen and during the holidays as a bell ringer. He also had a group of friends who met regularly at the Northgate Cafe. Renold leaves behind a legacy of community and generosity; lending a helping hand or an ear to anyone in need.
Renold was employed as a crane operator at Gilbert Iron and Metal and was the raw material General Manager at Staver Foundry. Over the years, he held a number of different business ventures, most notably Minnesota Alloy.
Renold is survived by his companion, Dorothy Haugen; children Gregg Pettinelli of Lake of the Ozarks, MO., Renell Pettinelli of Northfield, MN., Charles (Kim) Pettinelli of Virginia MN., Patrick (Jessica Klein) Pettinelli of Seattle, WA., and daughter-in-law Lisa Pettinelli of Virginia, MN.; grandchildren, Michael (Megan) Wickmann, Kaye (Tim) Andree, Kelli Pettinelli, Benjamin Pettinelli, Brady Pettinelli, Chauncey Pettinelli and Niclas Pettinelli; great-grandchildren William Andree and Lucy Andree; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Pettinelli, son Jon Pettinelli, as well as his parents and siblings.
The Pettinelli family would like to thank the staff at Cornerstone Villa for the personal and professional quality of care.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church in Virginia. Pastor Nathan Sager will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia.
