Robert LeRoy Andersen, age 88, of Virginia and formerly of Aurora, MN, died Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Edgewood Vista in Virginia. He was born May 20, 1929, the son of Andrew and Margaret (Luchau) Andersen, on the family farm in Gary, MN. He attended school in Gary.

Robert worked as a young man for American Crystal Sugar, International Harvester, and later part-time for Adams Moto-Ski Shop. He retired from LTV accounting & receiving after 32 years of service. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Virginia, The Loyal Order of The Moose, the NRA, and was a lifetime member of the Western MN Steam Thresher's Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years, riding & working on snowmobiles, rebuilding & displaying antique engines and tractors, nature – picking wild berries & gardening, and reading his newspaper while watching people.

Robert is survived by his children: Randy (Susan) Strand of Virginia, MN, Denise (Donald) Klovstad of Superior, WI, Gina (Randall) Roen of Fergus Falls, MN, Timothy (Christine) Andersen of Buffalo, MN, and Amber Peterson of Aurora, MN; 16 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a great-grandson; and special lady: Joy Wright.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm funeral service Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Rauha cemetery.
