Robert Mathew "Bob" Johnson, Jr., age 77 of Biwabik, died January 25, 2026 at Essentia Health St. Mary's in Duluth. He was born July 19, 1948 to Robert and Gertrude Johnson in Soudan, MN.  He was a graduate of Tower High School and was a longtime resident of Soudan. Bob worked as an electrician for U.S. Steel and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Soudan. Bob was well known in the Tower-Soudan community, if he wasn't in his garage working on his latest project, you could be sure to find him at a local establishment engaged in a lively debate with friends, or "cruising" around the horn. His passion was woodworking, especially with a scroll saw.

Bob is survived by his children, Lori Johnson of Biwabik, Jenette (Clayton) Pratt of Tower, and Jaimie (Chris Davis) Johnson of Chisholm; brother Richard (Diane) Johnson of Bullhead City, AZ; grandchildren Detton and Darrin Koski, Makenzie O'Shea, Mythias and Truce Lightfeather, Talon, Tatum and Ashley Pratt; 8 great-grandchildren, and many loving extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers Gordon and Gerard, and niece Carey Michelle.

Bob's family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff and family at New Journey Residence for being such an important and caring part of his life.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jun 17th at the Lakeview Cemetery in Tower.
