Robert Leslie Taylor fka Laszlo Szabo, age 85 of Tower died Monday, November 15, 2010 in the Virginia Regional Medical Center. He was born July 1, 1925 in Budapest, Hungary the son of Janos and Anna (Solomon) Szabo. Robert was a graduate of the Philadelphia School of Art and married Alice Tuomi on July 1, 1966 in Bethesda, Maryland. They lived in Arlington, VA from 1966-1967, Bryn Mawr, PA from 1967 to 2004 and in Tower since 2004. He was the owner and operator of an art restoration and custom framing business, retiring in 1991; and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tower. Robert possessed a warm, gentle, friendly spirit and was always willing to help. He loved animals and was proud of his American Citizenship.
Robert is survived by his wife: Alice; sisters-in-law: Arliss (Harold) Olson of Britt, Karin Von Sien of Duluth and Kay (Richard) Hanson of Tower, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law: Robert Von Sien; and a niece: Lisa Von Sien.
A Gathering time for family and friends will beheld Friday, November 19, 2010 from10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tower. Pastor Aaron Lofgren will officiate. Spring Inurnment will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery in Tower.
