Roberta A. Lund, age 79, longtime Hibbing resident and former resident of Virginia and Minneapolis, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at the Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing. Born April 14, 1939, in Cook, MN, to Orleon and Alice (Johnson) Anshus, she was a graduate of Virginia High School and attended Virginia Jr. College. Roberta was united in marriage to the love of her life, John L. Lund, on July 19, 1958, at Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church in Virginia.

Roberta began work as a teller for locally owned Merchants and Miners State Bank, rising to a teller supervisor position for Norwest Bank upon its acquisition of the local bank, and holding that supervisory position for twenty-three years with Wells Fargo when that bank later merged with Norwest. She retired from banking in 2003.

Roberta was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Known for her sardonic wit and quick "come-backs", Roberta always wore the engaging smile that endeared her to all. She loved to laugh and to bring laughter to others. Her house was filled with family and friends – and with the antiques and crafts she treasured. Roberta was Christmas personified, delighting in decorating every corner of every room. Were there a need, her time was your time, always ready to help customers, friends, and family. Roberta Lund will be deeply missed.

Roberta is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years: John; sons: Bradley (Chastity Lund of Floodwood, MN, Scott (Stephanie) Lund of Lino Lakes, MN, and Eric (Raquel) Lund of Hibbing; grandchildren: Cory, Danielle, JD, Hayliee, Shannon, Milee, Madison, Samantha, Connor, John, and Colton; great-granddaughter: Brooklynn; and numerous extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother: Phillip.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the 11:00 am Memorial Service on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hibbing. The Reverend Kevin Olson will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Columbarium at the Church.
