Obituary

Roberta A. Sever, age 85, longtime resident of Tower died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, in the Ely Hospital. She was born October 2, 1927, in Burr Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Louie and Violet (Wilbur) Underbakke. She graduated from Canton High School, and went on to receive her B.S. from Cornell College. She was united in marriage to Frank Sever on December 30, 1961, in Biwabik, MN.
Roberta taught 1st grade in Aurora, MN, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tower where she served in their circles.
Roberta is survived by her husband: Frank; her daughter: Mari Malzahn of Arlington Heights, IL; her son-in-law: Michael Kahn of Duluth, MN; her brother: Dale (Eleanor) Underbakke of Burr Oak, IA; her sisters: Opal Underbakke of Burr Oak, IA, and Shirley (Craig) Hill of Ellsworth, IA; six grandchildren: Jason, Amber, Jenny, Emily, Sever, and Grant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Maynard and twin brother: Robert and daughter: Silva Kahl.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tower. The Reverend Father Bill Skarich will celebrate the Mass. Spring Interment will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery in Tower.
