Biography

Rodney O. Erickson, age 80, a lifelong resident of Cherry died Friday, March 31, 2017 in Essentia Health – Virginia. He was born January 12, 1937 the son of Onnie and Bertha (Mayry) Erickson. Rodney married Arlene Louhi on April 24, 1954 in Chisholm and was a longtime employee of US Steel Minntac. He loved his horses, gave sleigh rides for many years, and was a "people person".

Rodney is survived by his lovely wife of 63 years: Arlene; children: Tim of Cherry, Shelly (Brad) McClellan of Hastings, and Philip (Fiancé Barbara) of Iron; siblings: Mardel Lampi of Chisholm, Becky Koski of Colorado, and Ross (Pat) Erickson of Bovey; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters: Terri Erickson and Gail Smith; and sister: Karen Lindland.

At Rodney's request, no formal services will be held.
