Ronald Arthur Ebert, 69, of rural Chisholm, died unexpectedly September 12th, 2014 at his sons home near Rochester, MN.
Ron was born in Chisholm to Arthur and Adela (Lentz) Ebert January 20th, 1945. He was raised in and attended Hibbing schools. Ron was later drafted into the Army serving as a medic during the Vietnam War. Honorably discharged and returning to Minnesota he married Sharon Hamre and had three boys before divorcing. Ron worked his career for US Steel Minntac Local 1938 and enjoyed many years retired. He was a life member of the VFW & American Legion and also helped sell Poppies every year.
Throughout Ron's life he has been dedicated to helping family, friends, and even strangers. His love and interests included; deer hunting, hobby farming, and playing with farm / construction equipment, taking up dump truck driving for Parrk Paving (Buhl) in retirement for fun. The most recent years found him spending quality time with his Grandson.
He is survived by and will be missed by his Sons; Branden (Sandie) of Eden Prairie, Brian of Rochester, Brent of Hibbing. Grandson; Jaxson of Rochester. Sisters; Sharon (John) Moyer of Wichita KS, Janice Spotts of Chisholm.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the 10:00 A.M. Funeral Service Saturday, September 20, 2014, at the Wesley United Methodist Church. The Reverend Terry Tilton will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
