Rose Marie "Re" Sundquist Lacher, a life long resident of Virginia, peacefully passed away on January 27, 2024 in the early morning hours.  Re was born October 3, 1932, in Rochester, Minnesota to Karl and Rose Sundquist.  RE attended Lincoln Elementary School and was a 1950  graduate from the Roosevelt High School.  She also attended Virginia Junior college and the University Of Minnesota Business School. Later she went to UMD and received a teaching degree. She taught Social Studies at the Aurora High School for two years. After that she became a probation officer for St. Louis County until she retired.

On June 30, 1979 Re married Bernard Lacher at St. John's Catholic Church in Virginia.  She belonged to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, formerly Lady of Lords where she sang in the choir.  Re was a member of the General Federation of Woman's Clubs, the Soroptimist Club, and the Eshquaguma Club. She was an avid curler and golfer. In her curling days her team won the Woman's National Trophy and later the Senior Woman's Trophy.  Re and Bernie enjoyed many years with their monthly dinner group.

Re is survived by her brother Kurt(Carol) Sundquist of Virginia; Sisters: Barbara(Keith) Knoop of Hibbing and Karin(Dr. Phil) Peterson of Minneapolis; Her nieces: Lisa(Jon Giles) of Portland, Oregon; Trish(Tim) Mann of Duluth; Kristin(Michael) Larson of Mercer Island, Washington; Nephews: Per(Sarah) Peterson of Washington D.C. and Karl Sundquist of Virginia.  Along with many grand nieces and nephews.

Re was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bernie.

Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday February 3, 2024 at 11:00 A.M at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia.  Inurnment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Virginia.
