Russell "Baldy" Hendrickson, age 82 of Hibbing died Saturday January 17, 2009 in the Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 8, 1926 in Hibbing, the son of Anders and Helmi (Hill) Hendrickson and served in the US Navy. Russell married Audrey Aulick on August 6, 1960 in South Saint Paul, MN and was a lifelong resident. Baldy retired from the US Postal service after 42 years of service. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and the American Legion Post of Hibbing. Baldy was an avid sports fan who enjoyed going to all the local games. He cherished the time he spent with his family.
Russell is survived by his wife of 48 years: Audrey; son: John (Lori) Hendrickson of Hibbing; daughter: Sara (Jim) Andrican of Hibbing; grandchildren: Elizabeth and Michael Andrican; a sister: Dorothy (Carl) Tamminen of Mendota Heights, MN; a nephew: David Tamminen of Hibbing; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a niece: Carla Macey and a nephew: Mark Tamminen.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Dr. David Stevens will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hibbing Park - Maple Hill Cemetery.
