Ruth Miriam Ruha, age 89, lifelong resident of Mt. Iron and Virginia died Thursday, September 17, 2015, at the Essentia Health Convalescent Care Center in Virginia. She was born November 2, 1925, in Mt. Iron, MN, the daughter of Alexander and Amelia (Kiviniemi Otava) Ruha.
Ruth cleaned for the Engman Family, the Tourraine Home, and Lakeview Motel. She later delivered the Duluth News Tribune. She attended the Sand Lake Chapel. Ruth enjoyed reading and caring for her dogs.
Ruth is survived by her brother-in-law: Earl Haugen of Virginia; sisters-in-law: Inis Ruha and Florence "Bubs" Ruha, both of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters: Aune Airista, Rachel Siik, Esther Zager, Corinne Wainio, and Rebecca Haugen; and her brothers: Cal Ruha, Laurie Ruha, and Ole Ruha.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 21, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Sand Lake Chapel. Pastor Richard Lohry will officiate. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia.
