Susan Elaine Palkovich died on December 12, 2013 surrounded by her friends at Essentia Health in Duluth, Minnesota. She was born May 23, 1953 to Joyce and William Palkovich.
She never knew a life without limitations, yet Susan didn't let adversity limit her ability to teach others around her the importance of joy, love, and making one smile. Those who had the privilege to meet her were blessed by her smile and laughter and sometimes a blown kiss.
She retired from East Range Developmental Achievement Center, Eveleth in 2009. She was a member of the senior choir at Gethsemane Lutheran Church. She loved people and staying active. Her favorite pastime was listening to music, especially Christmas music and Silent Night, watching Disney movies, and singing.
Susie is survived by a special friend, RitaRae Stadler-Sager and her housemates and friends from Lutheran Social Service.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 17 at 1:00 pm at Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church in Virginia, MN. A Gathering time for family and friends will begin one hour prior.
