Obituary

Sylvia Inga Johnson, age 89, of Hibbing and formerly of Bejou, MN, died Monday, September 30, 2013, in the Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hibbing. She was born November 26, 1923, in Bear Park Twp., MN, the daughter of Hans and Karen (Olson) Hanson-Horn. She was united in marriage to Clarence A. Sirjord on April 13, 1943, in Norman County, MN. Following the death of Clarence she was united in marriage to Joseph A. Johnson in 1974 in the Fallberg Lutheran Church in Winger, MN.
Sylvia worked as a homemaker and also as a cook and did house cleaning. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and quilting.
Sylvia is survived by her husband: Joseph; three sons: Sherman "Slim" (Connie) Sirjord, Harlee (Kathy) Sirjord, and Marv (Bonnie) Sirjord, all of Hibbing; seven grandchildren: Michael (Dawn) Sirjord, Bradley (fiancée Becky Smith) Sirjord, Joshua (Amy) Sirjord, Amy Sirjord, Jeffrey (Daneil) Sirjord, Jesse Sirjord, and Cindy (Brian) Lervik; six great grandchildren: Keke, Jory, Breonna, Aryssa, Cayson, and Riley; and one great-great grandson: Jordyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband: Clarence; six brothers; four sisters; and a son: James.
A private family service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013, in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend James Deters will officiate. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
