Tammy Lynn Hopper Childs, age 38 of Virginia died unexpectedly Monday, September 16, 2013 in her home. She was born November 27, 1974 in Portsmouth, VA, the daughter of James and Alaide (Steeves) Hopper, Jr. and was a 1993 graduate of Virginia High School. Tammy was employed as an assistant Manager for Holiday Station Stores; and was formerly employed by Fortune Bay for 18 years. She has been active in Girl Scouts and was Past Honored Queen of Jobs Daughters Bethel # 6 in Virginia. Tammy enjoyed camping, the wilderness, and hunting. She cherished time spent with family and friends.
Tammy is survived by her parents: Jim and Alaide Hopper of Virginia; daughter: Jordanna Childs of Eveleth; siblings: Teresa (Dave Woitel) Hopper of Hibbing and James (Jennifer Kotnik) Hopper III of Eveleth; significant other: Jason Grannemann; Jordanna's father: Raymond (Kirstie Kern) Childs of Eveleth; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister: Tory Peterson; maternal grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Steeves; and paternal grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. James Hopper.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service in the Virginia United Methodist Church. Pastor Mickey Olson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
