Theresa Lindula, age 95, a long time Iron Range resident, passed away at Cornerstone Villa Assisted Living in Buhl, MN on August 22, 2026. Theresa was born in Becker County, MN to Gust and Elma Arola. She married Ervin Lindula on October 7, 1950. Three children were born to the happy couple.
Theresa enjoyed her work at the St. Louis County Fair. Theresa and Ervin enjoyed the many years they spent visiting the Minnesota State Fair while camping at the fairgrounds. They had special memories of their travels in the United States and fishing in Canada. She was a member of First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Virginia, MN. She enjoyed being a member of Ladies of Kaleva and remained active for many years. Theresa enjoyed time with her family and many friends. She was an outgoing person who enjoyed visiting with people. She liked to play games and was a quilter and made many crochet items. When she was at home in Cherry you could always enjoy her homemade bread. She was lovingly known as “Aiti” to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Theresa is survived by her children Roxine Liesmaki, Hopkins, MN, Rolene (Raymond) Lampi, Duluth, MN and Roger (Cindy) of Cherry, MN, grandchildren Nicholas (Heather) Michael, Zachary (Hanna) Michael, Kristine (Perry) Speros, Matthew (Nicole) Lampi, AnnMarie (Charles) Rudstrom, John (Richelle) Lindula, Brian (Anika) Lindula, twelve great-grandchildren; one sister Ellen Johnson, host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ervin (2001), brother Walter, sisters: Esther, Amelia, Effie, Elma, Rosa, Hazel, Lillian, Aili and Julia. The family would like to thank the staff at Cornerstone Villa and Essentia East Range Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 31, 2026 at the 1st Apostolic Lutheran Church in Virginia. A visitation will begin one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Peter Nelson will officiate. Interment will be at the Zim Cemetery, new section.
