Tyler Jeffery Erickson, age 23, lifelong resident of Mt. Iron died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Mayo - St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was born January 29, 1992, in Duluth the son of Dale and Betsy (Bowman) Erickson and graduated from Mt. Iron – Buhl High School in 2011. Tyler attended Peace United Methodist Church in Virginia. He enjoyed skiing with the folks from the Courage Center; liked hockey, golf, fishing, and all outdoor activities. He was an avid video gamer. Tyler brought joy, love and smiles to all he met.
Tyler is survived by his parents: Dale and Betsy Erickson; brother: Dustin (Jessica) Erickson of Virginia; maternal grandmother: Lorraine Bowman of Cook, MN; paternal grandfather: Victor Erickson of Eveleth, MN; niece: Tressa Mattson; nephew: Michael Gifford; numerous aunts; uncles; cousins; friends, including special friends: Tia and Dwayne – and his dog Nisky.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Eugene Bowman; and paternal grandmother: Alice Erickson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home in Virginia. Visitation will continue Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 12 Noon until the 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service at Peace United Methodist Church in Virginia. Pastor Mickey Olson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery in Tower.
