Vincent A. Zavodnik, ("General" or "Winker") age 67, lifetime resident of Soudan died Sunday, July 22, 2012 in St. Raphael's Health & Rehab Center in Eveleth. He was born March 17, 1945, in Soudan the son of Tony and Mary (Vesel) Zavodnik. He attended school in Soudan.
Vincent worked for many years for the Kainz Lumber Company. He was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tower. Vincent enjoyed gardening, picking berries, policing the streets of Soudan, and spending time in the woods.
Vincent is survived by his sisters: Marie and Helen Zavodnik; brother: Anthony (Kathy) Zavodnik, all of Soudan; nieces and nephews: Angela Zavodnik, Joseph (Angela) Zavodnik, Kelly Zavodnik, and Katie Zavodnik; and great-nieces and nephews: Connor, Mariah, Bella and Nate.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters: Ann and Dorothy.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Memorial Mass Thursday, July 26, 2012 in St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tower. The Reverend Father Seth Gogolin will be the celebrant. Inurnment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery in Tower.
