Walter Anderson, age 94, longtime resident of Hibbing died Sunday, July 14, 2013 in Guardian Angels in Hibbing. He was born August 2, 1918, in Hibbing the son of William and Hannah (Kallio) Anderson. He attended Hibbing Schools. Walter was united in marriage to Margaret Jeanette Gisselquist on March 4, 1950 in Hibbing.
Walter worked for Hanna Mining Co. retiring in 1965. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing the accordion, hunting and fishing.
Walter is survived by his sister: Aune Violet Kangas of Hibbing: his special nephew and godson: Wally (Brenda) Kangas of Hibbing: nephews: Glenn (Debbie) Kangas and Gary (Kathy) Kangas, both of Hibbing; a niece: Diane (Vance) Giroux of Hibbing; and numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Margaret; and three brothers: Wayne, Bill, and Earnest.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service Monday, July 22, 2013, in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
