Whitney Lien Durbin, age 23, lifelong resident of Mt. Iron died peacefully Sunday, November 15, 2009 in her home. She was born June 7, 1986 in Hibbing, the daughter of Denise Fredrickson and Jeffrey Mikkola. She graduated from Virginia High School in 2007.
Whitney was full of life and enjoyed reading books, listening to music, shopping, and visiting "grandma Sue".
She is survived by her parents; her sister: Cheyenne (Dan Ellis) Mikkola of Mt. Iron; friends and caregivers: Audra (Jason) Levings, Jennifer (Jason) Wobbema, Kat (Lars) Hackey; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Melvin and Mavis Mikkola; her maternal grandmother: Bernice Burke; her great-uncle: Butch Burke; and her close friend: Lori Wheeler.
Visitation will be from 6:30 pm until the 7:00 pm celebration of life service on Saturday, November 21, 2009 in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel. Greg Anderson: Celebrant.
