Obituary

William A. Laitinen, age 53 of Hoyt Lakes, died Saturday, March 10, 2018 in Essentia -St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. He was born February 9, 1965 in Cook, the son of Allen and Katherine "Katy" (Sam) Laitinen of Cook. Bill was employed as a HVAC Technician, he loved fixing things, art and music and making people laugh. Bill was very spiritual, everyone looked to him for advice, never talked down to anyone, and was a healer. He loved and cherished time spent with his family and friends.


Bill is survived by his wife Sherrie; children: Veronica Laitinen of International Falls, William, Jr. of Hoyt Lakes, and Krista Marie Laitinen of Hoyt Lakes; step-children: Amanda Peters, Tracy Peters, Nancy Peters, William Peters and Caralee Peters; grand-daughter: Sherrie; mom: Katherine "Katy" Laitinen of Cook; brother: Trevor (Marie) Rintala of Virginia; sister: Tylene Laitinen of Cook and numerous brother and sisters-in-law; uncles, extended family, friends. .


He was preceded in death by his father Allen; uncles, including John Sam; and brother Victor Rintala.


Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home Chapel in Virginia. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to the service.
