Arlene L Gustafson, age 90, long-time resident of Hibbing died Saturday February 17, 2024 in Edgewood Vista in Virginia, Minnesota.  She was born September 24, 1933 in Chisholm the daughter of Howard Wuollet and Aina (Maki) Koivunen and was a graduate of Cherry High School.  She married John E. Gustafson in 1951. Arlene was employed at the Hibbing Hospital as a Kitchen supervisor. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and a investment club. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, cross-stitch and wood-carving.

Arlene is survived by her children: Diane (Darold) ”Ricco” Riihiluoma of Hibbing and David(Tonette) Gustafson of Hibbing; siblings: Darrel(Phyllis) Koivunen of Cherry, Candice(Robert) Maki of Duluth, Leslie (Roberta) Wuollet of Orland Park, IL; Son-In-Law:  Donald Roberts of Hibbing;  9  Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Grandchild and 1 Step-Grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her Father: Howard Wuollet; Mother: Aina(Maki) Koivunen; Step-Father: Jack Koivunen; Husband: John; Children: John Gustafson, Lawrence Gustafson, and Debra Roberts,  and Brother: Howard Koivunen

The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday February 26, 2024 at the First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Pastor John Dietz will officiate. A gathering time for Family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will take place in the Hibbing Park Cemetery.
