Blaine Stewart Swan (“Biidaanakwadoons” = Little Cloud Coming), age 40, of Virginia, died Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s, in Duluth.  He was born November 13, 1983, in Virginia, the son of Victor Swan and Dawn Rae Sam. Blaine was a graduate of Virginia High School.  He was employed by the East Range DAC in Virginia and worked in their woodworking shop and did lawncare as well.  He enjoyed listening to Pow Wow Music and drumming.

Blaine is survived by his Moms: Pam Sherman of Tower and Dawn Rae Sam of Virginia; Siblings: Jolene Swan of Tower, Victor Swan III, Josh (Alanna) Sherman of Tower and Jason (Marissa) Sherman of Wisconsin; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends including his group home and ERDAC families.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandmother: Margaret Hackey; and sister: Rebecca Lynn Swan.

The Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the Bois Forte Wellness Center in Tower. The wake will begin Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at the Wellness Center. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Tower, MN.
