Casey Aro, age 69 of Zim, died Thurs., May 21, 2026 at Essential Health - St. Mary’s in Duluth. He was born in Chisholm on Feb. 22, 1957, son of Robert “Bobby” and Charlotte Aro. He grew up in Texas and Minnesota, and married Lynette Andrews in 1976. They lived in Alaska before moving back to the Zim area. They had 66 foster kids, some of whom they got to keep! They were members of the Riverside Chapel in Forbes.
Casey started playing music in his dad’s dance band as a teen. Through the years, he worked different places including Iron World for 18 years, Youth for Christ, and various camps. He was a dedicated storyteller and musician, thoroughly enjoying every minute of entertaining folks young and old.
Casey is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years: Lynnie; 66 foster children including: Gerri Erickson of Mt. Iron, and Kimberly (Richard) Neuttila of Cherry: siblings: Mike (Cheryl) Aro of Eveleth, and Robin Kuznik of Hibbing; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A gathering in his honor will be held at a later date.
