Chad Leslie Guttormson, 53, died Monday, October 2, 2023, at his home in Virginia, MN. Chad was born August 18, 1970, in Robbinsdale, MN, to Leslie and Terri (DePaulis) Guttormson. He graduated from Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School in 1988.
Chad held many jobs in his life, including a long career in auto parts sales. He was most recently a maintenance worker at Pine View Inn in Virginia.
Chad loved many kinds of music, and his favorite song was “Up on the Sun” by the Meat Puppets. He enjoyed spending time in nature and taking photos of beautiful views he found when fishing. A lover of all animals, Chad pinched the barbs on fish hooks to prevent injury to the fish he caught and released. He especially loved his pets Martin, Rex, and his lady cat, known as Kiki, Pazoozoo, Roo Roo, Paul R. Nelson, or York Grass, depending on the day. He adopted his mother’s cat, Evie (Wolfie), after Terri died earlier this year. Chad expressed his creativity by drawing, reading, writing, playing guitar, and painting his kitchen his favorite color, orange.
Chad is survived by his daughters: Cara and Cadence Guttormson; siblings: Tyler Guttormson and Dana (Brian) Nelson; nephews: Steven (Lexi) Guttormson, Jacob (Yesi) Guttormson, Lucas Guttormson, and Tucker (Ashley) Nelson; girlfriend Jessica Bourassa; stepmother Linda Young; stepbrothers: Jeff (Diane) and Brad McWilliams; and uncles, aunts, and cousins.
