Chester E. Moellering, age 95, lifelong resident of Buck Lake, died Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in his home with family at his side.  He was born February 12, 1928, in Iowa, the son of Chester W. and Thelma (Brooks) Moellering.  He attended Nashwauk High School.  A Veteran of the US Army, Chester served in Germany during WWII.  Chester was united in marriage to Florence H. Holcomb on July 22, 1950, in Kelly Lake, MN.

            Chester was a self-employed logger and trucker.  He was a member of Nashwauk Methodist Church.  He was on the board of directors of Lake Country Power, Past Master of Nashwauk Masonic Lodge #331, a lifetime member of the VFW, and a member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed his lifelong work, and playing cribbage.

            Chester is survived by his sons: Keith (Kathy) Moellering of Nashwauk, MN, Duane (Millie) Moellering of Hibbing, MN, and David (Mary Beth) Moellering of Hibbing, MN; sisters: Esther (William) Tomljanovich of Lake Elmo, MN, and Carol Roberts of Big Lake, MN; grandchildren: Aaron (Becky) Moellering, Angela (Mark) Fischer, Ben (Nikki) Moellering, Chris Moellering, Kelsey (Billy) Unger, and Kyle (Mari) Moellering; great-grandchildren: Morgan, Chase, Sydnee, Rylee, Ty, Jersey, and Avary; and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews.

            Visitation with a Military Honor Guard will be from 10 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Nashwauk United Methodist Church.  Pastor Diane Bolles will officiate.  Inurnment will be at a later date in the Nashwauk Cemetery.
