Darlene Louise (Gentile) Turja

Darlene Louise (Gentile) Turja, age 83 of Virginia, MN died Friday, March 27, 2026 in Edgewood Senior Living Center. She was born July 22, 1942 the daughter of Orlando and Frances (Novakovich) Gentile. Darlene married Thomas John Turja on August 29, 1961 in Virginia. She was employed as a school aide for 40 years. Darlene was a longtime resident of Virginia, a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish and a church guild, and she loved to travel with Tom in their early years.  She and Tom also owned many classic cars and were avid members of the local car clubs.

Darlene is survived by her son: Paul of Eveleth; a brother: Louis (Janice- who was like the sister she never had) Gentile of Gilbert; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas; son: Thomas Jr.; her parents; and a brother: John Gentile.

The Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia. A gathering time for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the Mass. Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Virginia.
