Dorothy Joan Cox, age 87, lifelong resident of Hibbing and Side Lake died Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Chisholm.  She was born December 1, 1936, the daughter of Adolph and Ethel Mattson.  Dorothy was united in marriage to Edward Cox, Jr. on June 2, 1954, in Hibbing.

            Dorothy had a passion for bowling and watching local dirt track racing.

            She is survived by her daughter: Patricia Fink of Hibbing; four grandchildren: Jeremy (Nikki), Derek (Kari), Andrew (Celeste), and Rachel (Addison); eight great-grandchildren: Sophie, Keeghan, Bevie, Tyrus, Tyler, Aiden, Audrey, and Aspen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Edward Cox, Jr. (2016); and her daughter: Jeanette Maslowski (2004).

            It was Dorothy’s wish that there be no funeral.
