Eric Robert Broten, age 36, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Saturday, January 17, 2026, in his home.  He was born May 31, 1989, in Hibbing the son of Dale R. and Candy R. (Buchwitz) Broten.  He was a graduate of Hibbing High School and Hibbing Community College.

            Eric worked for many years at Sammy’s Pizza in Hibbing.  He was baptized at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing.  He loved his dogs Penny & Ozzy, and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

            Eric is survived by his father: Dale of Hibbing, MN; sister: Ashley (Sam) Fish of Virginia, MN; companion: Shelby Broker; niece: Violet Fish; and numerous extended family members and friends.

            He was preceded in death by his mother: Candy (2010); maternal grandparents: Harold Jr. and Annette Buchwitz; and paternal grandparents: Donald E. and Janet C. Broten.

            Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel.  The Reverend Kevin Olson will officiate.
