Obituary
Harry Wallace Benson, age 90, lifelong resident of Hibbing, died Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing. He was born April 13, 1933, in Hibbing, the son of Harry and Ellen (Salmi) Benson. He was a graduate of Hibbing High School, and went on to attend Hibbing Jr. College. Harry was united in marriage to Karen Ylatupa on September 26, 1959, in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing.
Harry worked for the MN DNR Minerals Division, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Hibbing Horseshoe Club.
Harry is survived by his wife: Karen; sons: Allan Harry Benson of Minneapolis, MN, and James Michael (Socorro) Benson of Dallas, TX; and sister: Barbara Bailey of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per Harry’s request, no funeral will be held.
