Iris Teasck Obituary

Iris Joy Teasck, age 93 of Britt and formerly of Virginia, died Thursday, February 27, 2025 in Edgewood Vista. She was born October 31, 1931 in Virginia, the daughter of Fred and Toini (Okerstrom) Whitmarsh. Iris married Robert Teasck on April 18, 1947 in Torrington, Wyoming. She lived in Virginia until moving to Britt in 1976. Iris was multi-talented. She was a vocalist, an awesome cook, created beautiful wedding cakes, and a talented seamstress. Iris was a longtime member of Peace United Methodist Church and its choir in Virgina, PEO Chapter CI, Virginia Pioneers, and a 50 year-member of the East Range Choral Society. “Ike” loved the lake, saunas, and swimming; she enjoyed taking walks, and cross-country skiing; and she cherished time spent with her family.

Iris is survived by sons: Thomas (Ginger) Teasck of Virginia, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Teasck of Virginia, and Steven (Jane) Teasck of Cloquet; daughters: Terry Hilar of Biwabik, Emily Bennett of Tucson, and Amy (Ben Squires) Teasck of Virginia; Brother: Charlie (Char) Whitmarsh of Stevens Point; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Bob; sons-in-law: Carter Hagen and John Hilar; siblings: Joanna Love, Wanda Whitmarsh, and Donovan Whitmarsh.

The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Peace United Methodist Church in Virginia. Pastor Rob Kopp will officiate. The gathering time for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service at the Church. Private Inurnment will take place in the Calvary Cemetery.
