James Darwin Bailey, age 59, of Makinen and formerly of Aurora and Fergus Falls, MN, died Saturday, August 23, 2025, in his home.  He was born December 1, 1965, in Aurora, MN, the son of Darwin and Joyce (Harder) Bailey.  He was a graduate of Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School and went on to receive his master’s degree from St. Scholastica.  James was united in marriage to Lori B. Allen on May 31, 2014, in Makinen.

            James worked as a Truck Driver and as a Drug Counselor at Range Mental Health until his retirement.  He was a Member of the BPM and Hells Angels Motorcycle Clubs.  He enjoyed motorcycles, firearms, music and guitars.  He loved having children around.

            James is survived by his wife: Lori; his parents: Darwin (Joyce) Bailey of Hoyt Lakes, MN; his grandmother: June Bailey of Aurora, MN; his sister: Lela Bailey of Spearfish, SD; mother-in-law: Aletha Allen of Makinen, MN; Children: Austen Humphreys of Salt Lake City, UT, and Ethan (Kristi-Leigh Jensen) Humphreys of Hibbing, MN; Daughter-In-Law: Ashley Sour of Hibbing; Grandchildren: Rykar, Iris, Sylas, Arieann and Everley; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,  and friends.

            A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Hells Angels Clubhouse, 413 Grant Ave., Eveleth, MN. Chad Amborn will officiate.
