James Richard “Jim” Vesel, age 79 of Biwabik, died Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Essentia Health, Virginia. He was born June 1, 1940 in Eveleth, the son of Louis and Angela (Kozina) Vesel. He lived in Leonidas, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, South Grove, and Parkville before moving to Biwabik in 2010.
Jim was a metal fabricator for Vidmar Iron Works and was a volunteer at the Salvation Army. He enjoyed deer hunting, cutting wood, gardening, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, and spending time with his grandkids.
Jim is survived by his sons: Jamie Vesel of Minneapolis, Mark (Ambir) Vesel of Mt. Iron, and Joe (Lynne) Vesel of Britt; brother: Louie Vesel of West Eveleth; grandchildren: Jade, Jesse, and Kodie (Fred) Winterbauer, and Kristen (Bryan Ellis); great-grandchildren: Alex and Marcus Winterbauer, Bradon Vesel, and Jordan Lommel; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, step-dad, brother: Frank Vesel, nephew: Bryan Vesel, and sister-n-law: Arlene Vesel.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be in the Eveleth Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army.
