Jared Lee Hancock Obituary

Jared Lee Hancock, cherished as a son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, left a significant impact on everyone he encountered. He passed away on May 15, 2025, in Fayal Township, MN, leaving behind treasured memories of his infectious laughter and adventurous spirit.

Born on August 29, 1978, in Virginia, MN, Jared was the son of John Gary and Susan Hancock. Though preceded in death by his father, his infant daughter Ella Marie Hancock, his beloved dog Riley, and his grandparents, Jared's legacy of love continues through his family. He is survived by his daughters, Madelyn and Amelia, who were the center of his universe, his loving mother, Susan Hancock, siblings Jason (Julie) Hancock, Heidi (Bill) Leigh, Aaron (Jessica) Hancock, and Bill (Debbie) Hancock, his former wife, Nichole Hancock, his beloved nephews and neices, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

After graduating from Virginia High School’s class of 1997, Jared furthered his education and earned a BAE from St. Cloud State University. His ability to teach and care for others was evident from a young age, coaching wrestling and Little League in high school and teaching in Mexico during college. After college, he dedicated the remainder of his career to Hancock Fabrication in Angora, MN.

Known for his dazzling personality, Jared's infectious laughter and amazing hair were just the beginning. His exceptional vocabulary and word choice were admired by all, leaving an impact that will be greatly missed. His talent as an MC brought joy to every event, making everyone feel welcome. Friends and family fondly remember his cooking, storytelling, and ability to make any situation fun.

Jared had a deep love for the great outdoors, which included annual camping in the Boundary Waters, fishing, snowmobiling in the mountains and on the Iron Range, boating and jet skiing on Lake Vermilion, and his home on Ely Lake. A fan of the Grateful Dead and Dave Matthews Band, music was a constant in his life. However, his greatest happiness came from moments with his daughters, sharing rides on "White Lightning," wild tube rides, and teaching them to drive their own sleds.

As we celebrate Jared's life, we honor a man who touched so many with his kindness and humor. His spirit continues to resonate, reminding us all to live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment.

Until we meet again, Jared. May your light continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who remember you. “Celebrate we will, because life is short but sweet for certain.” - Dave Matthews Band. You truly brought light into every room and left it brighter. You will be forever missed.
