Jean R. Stirewalt, age 97, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Thursday February 2, 2023, in Hillcrest Adams in Hibbing.  She was born November 14, 1925, in Hibbing the daughter of William and Bertha (Sedlock) Mannes.  She was a graduate of Hibbing High School.  Jean was united in marriage to Robert Paul Stirewalt, Sr. on August 21, 1948, in Hibbing.

            Jean worked as a secretary for ISD 701 for many years.  She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing, and she enjoyed reading and puzzles.

            Jean is survived by her children: Robert, Jr. (Kathleen) Stirewalt of Hibbing, Beth Ann (Tom) Loo of Pengilly, MN, and Gary James Stirewalt of Chisholm, MN; a sister: Betty of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Robert, Sr. (1996); 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

            A private graveside service will be held at a later date.  Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
