It is with great sadness that the family of Jeanette Meinzer announces her passing at the age of 90 years. Jeanette passed peacefully at home on June 8, 2023.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Susan Bergeson (Steve), Steven Meinzer (Pat), Lori Grumdahl (Jeff), and John Meinzer (Char).
Grandchildren: Ryan Weiss, Kelly Engler (Jason), Kristen LeFevre (Dave), David Softich (Nannette), Matthew Meinzer, Aaron Meinzer, Michelle Edblom (Adam), Scott Meinzer, Andrew Meinzer (Kayla), Derek Jorgenson (Marjia) and Heather Sandnas and 15 great grandchildren along with two brothers, Roger Simons and Harry Simons (Margot) and sister-in-law Nancy Simons (Butch) and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will also be missed by her dear friends at Washington Manor. Jeanette was predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, Ronald C. Meinzer, son James Meinzer and brother Ed (Butch) Simons, and sister Helen Skorich.
Jeanette formed great friendships with her coworkers during her 13 years at The Iron Range Rehab Center. She and Ron spent their retirement years in Mesa Arizona before moving back to her hometown of Virginia. Jeanette had a flair for entertaining and was never without a joke to tell. She was a number one fan of “The Hutter Bunch”.
Jeanette was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Virginia; the family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care she received at Edgewood Vista.
A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Virginia, MN. Pastor Amy Janssen will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. A lunch will follow at the church after the service.
Memorials are preferred.
