Kenneth Moyle Obituary

Kenneth Edward Moyle, 89, of Virginia, Minnesota, passed away on Jan 19, 2025, at The Waterview Pines. Born on August 1, 1935, Ken was known for his kindness, humor, honesty, hard work, and devotion to his family. Ken married Patricia Sweet on August 11, 1956.

He is survived by 3 of their children: Thomas Moyle (Annie), Victoria Gaylene Sweet, and Robert Moyle (Katy). He was preceded in death by 5 children: Michael, Patrick, Steven, James, and Paula Moyle. Ken also has 11 grandchildren: Jayme Phillips (Chris), Briana Clukey (David), Keara Broadhead (Jeff); Christian (Allison), Matisse (Tony), and Aidan (Sadie) Hatch; Daniel, Madelynn, James, Jeffrey, and Amanda Moyle and 10 great-grandchildren: Claire, Grace, and Neal Phillips; Lincoln, Kennedy, and Reagan Clukey; Ember and Beau Broadhead; Ash Williams and River Hatch. Ken was a devoted member of his church and community. He served in the Cherry volunteer fire department as a firefighter, first responder, and EMT. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many church responsibilities including years of service in both the Chicago and St. Paul temples. He proudly served in the US Army from 1954-1956. After his military service, he embarked on a career with US Steel, where he worked for over 40 years in the same industry as his father and many generations of miners before him. After he retired, Ken and Pat enjoyed traveling to visit children and grandchildren all over the United States and even Europe. His family was always his priority.Ken enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt, fish, camp, and canoe. Later in life Ken discovered a love for salmon fishing in Oregon. One of his most cherished projects was building his family home in Cherry from the ground up, clearing the land himself. This home was more than just a structure. It was a testament to his love for and dedication to his family.

He was preceded in death by father Edward Moyle, mother Esther Moyle, brother Dudley Moyle, and sisters Lois Cameron and Cecelia Peppin. He is survived by his brother Stuart Moyle and a large extended family.

Ken had a fun sense of humor with a quick wit. On a recent ER visit when he was overrun with both pneumonia and COVID, the doctor said that he wanted to do a complete head scan. Ken quickly replied, “I guess…not sure if you’ll find anything in there!” He will be greatly missed.
