Larry Dean Pelkey. Age 85 of Buhl died Tuesday, July 2, 2024 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 21, 1939 in Stearns County, MN the son of Ernest and Lillie (Otteson) Pelkey and married Doris Jacobson on March 1, 1958 in Paynesville, MN. The couple moved to Buhl in 1967. Larry was employed as a journeyman plumber, a maintenance mechanic, and a millwright, retiring 3 times from National Steel and was a member of the USWA Local 2660. He was an accomplished wood worker, enjoyed camping, traveling, and collected model semi-trucks. Larry cherished the time spent with his family.

Larry is survived by his wife of 66 years: Doris; children: Jeffrey (Gayle) Pelkey of New Braunfels, TX, Kimberly Bianchi-Rossi of Buhl, and Julie (Todd) Garson of Esko; sister: Val Pauls of Buhl; grandchildren: Amy (Willie) Buffetta, Sean (Brianna) Pelkey, Zachary (Chelsea) Rossi, Jessica (Brandin) Carter; Ryan (Mae) Garson, Kayla (Austin) Johnson, Travis (Sharaell)  Treloar, and Nathan (Jacqueline) Treloar; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Delores Schwandt and Eileen Bratsch; and Darek Kurpius.

The Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Mountain Iron Community Center.
