Linda K Carpenter Obituary

Linda K. Carpenter, age 80, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, surrounded by her family at her home.  She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November of 2024.  She fought like a warrior.

She was born May 20, 1945, in Hibbing, the daughter of Carroll “Lindy” and LaMae (Belschner) Schloesser.  She was a graduate of Hibbing High School.  On March 20, 1965, she was united in marriage to Roger N. Carpenter.  They lived in Minneapolis prior to returning to Hibbing in 1971.  Linda worked at American Linen as a production worker and was one of the Hibbing “7”.  Her side job was making doggie booties with her son Tony for Pet Peds, where she was the CEO.  Linda was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing.  She enjoyed watching her grandchildren at their sporting events, along with cheering on the #19 Team LaBarge racing on Saturday nights.

She kept herself busy with her crocheting, gardening, crafting, spending time with her friends at Silver Sneakers, and she loved to decorate for the holidays.  She also collected memorabilia of her favorite singer/actor, Elvis Presley.  Linda touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her.  Her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever.  She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and compassion that lives on in all of us.

She is survived by her loving children: Tony (Carolyn) Carpenter, Terri Frider, Tamie (Dan) Lubovich, Todd (Danette) Carpenter; siblings: Pat (Gerry) Castagneri, Cindy Schloesser, Brenda (Duane) Carpenter, Diane Quirk, Sandy Smart, Sharon (Jack) Knox, Susie (Roger) Christofferson, Larry (Joanne) Schloesser; grandchildren: Jessica (Tristan) LaBarge, Cody Frider, Claire Carpenter (Andrew Poe), Megan (Mike Stevens) Frider, Katie (Adam) Rude, Andrew (Meg) Lubovich, Abigail (Patrick) Hill, Lydia, Gavin, and Benson Carpenter; great-grandchildren: Addison & Alex LaBarge, Blake Frider, Corbin Lubovich; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years: Roger N. Carpenter; parents; and sister: Vickie LaFreniere.

We would like to thank Fairview Hospice for their loving care and comfort during this difficult journey.
