Lois Jean Bonacci, age 85, longtime resident of Hibbing died Monday, June 3, 2024, at Benedictine Healthcare in Duluth.  She was born April 10, 1939, in Eveleth, MN the daughter of Jalmer and Lempi (Brunfelt) Jantunen.  She was a graduate of Virginia High School.  Lois was united in marriage to Joseph M. Bonacci on September 14, 1957, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Virginia, MN.

            Lois worked as a homemaker, and also worked at the IGA, and as a Study Hall Teacher at the Lincoln Jr. High in Hibbing.  She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing.  Lois loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching sports.

            She is survived by her sons: Mark Bonacci of Duluth, MN, Jay Bonacci of Hibbing, MN, and James Bonacci of St. Louis Park, MN; sister: Linda Olander; and brother: Jalmer (Carol) Jantunen, Jr.; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters: Dawn and Kris; daughter-in-law: Kathleen; and great-grandson: Bentley.

            A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2024, in the Fellowship Hall of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing.  Pastor Kevin Olson will be the officiant.

            Memorials are preferred to charities benefiting stroke victims.
