Lorraine Jorgensen, 93, a resident of Waterview Pines, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024. Lorraine lived her life with Sisu until the very end; she will be missed by her loving family and many friends.
Lorraine was born on May 24, 1931, in Pike River, the daughter of Matt and Elma Mattson. Lorraine worked for the Virginia Regional Medical Center for over 32 years, eventually earning her associate’s degree in environmental sciences prior to being named the Director of Housekeeping and Laundry Services.
“Mother Goose” loved her goslings unconditionally. She is survived by daughter: Diane (John) Starkovich of Douglasville, Georgia; sons: Dennis (Kaye) Jorgensen of Virginia, Dale Jorgensen of Virginia, and Dean Jorgensen of Wayzata, MN; grandchildren: Tyler Jorgensen of Virginia, Kamara (Tony) Potts, of Britt, John M. (Alina) Starkovich III, of Virginia, and Lindsey (Andy) Heisel of Virginia; and special grand dog, Kaiser of Wayzata, MN. Lorraine was blessed with numerous great- grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Matt, and Elma Mattson; brothers, Clarence and Clyde Mattson; and, daughter, Doreen Jorgensen.
The family will accept visitors at Bauman-Cron Funeral Home in Virginia on Friday, June 21 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm., and again from 9:00 am until the 10:00 am funeral service on Saturday, June 22, at Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Holman presiding. A private family burial is scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Arts Fund held by The Virginia Community Foundation.
