Lowell Ernest Sakrison Obituary

Lowell Ernest Sakrison, longtime resident of Virginia, died on January 24, 2026, at age 77 at Essentia Health in Virginia, MN. Lowell was born in 1948 in Glendale, CA to Lloyd and Nona (Peterson) Sakrison.

Lowell earned his master’s degree at Bemidji State and dedicated many years of his life to shaping young minds and encouraging his students to pursue their dreams. His love for education was evident in the way he invested in the lives of those he taught, always striving to inspire curiosity and hope. Lowell was an avid gardener, tending his flower gardens and hedge for hours each summer. He also had a strong love for animals of many kinds. He enjoyed several beloved dogs and cats over the years as well as birds, squirrels and various wildlife, in his later years mostly from the front deck. Lowell’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was truly one-of-a-kind, and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his Life Partner Sandy Stark, Children: Erikka Stillings (Steve), Andrew Sakrison and Kimberly Sakrison; Siblings: Dale (Debbie) Sakrison, Jane Sakrison-Chilcote and Lani (Mark) Bruzek; 3 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren: Nieces and Nephews and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private family service will be held at a later date. Family services provided by Bauman-Cron, A Bauman Family Funeral Home in Virginia.
