Marshawne Ranae (Dorstad) Geisdorf Obituary

Marshawne Renae Dorstad Geisdorf, 54, passed away March 17,2026 at her home in Aurora, MN.  Surrounded by family and friends.  Her family called her Shawne for short.  Shawne was born on July 4th, 1971, at St Joseph’s Hospital in Brainerd, MN to Aller Dorstad and Karen Dorstad Bovee.

Shawne graduated from Mesabi East High School in Aurora in 1989.  She ran her own day care for years then went into the PCA field where she worked until her health struggles.  She loved her clients and co-workers.  Shawne loved to have fun and be goofy whether it was at work or at home.

Shawne loved her children, Eric (Kara Johnson) Geisdorf, Brandy (Chase) Sistad, and Bianca Geisdorf.  She loved them all very much.

Shawne had 6 grandchildren that were the apples of her eye. Bryce Geisdorf, Hadley Geisdorf, Rhylee Reussell, Blair Sistad, Ziva Sistad, and Kayden Sistad.  She bragged about them often and was so proud that Bryce is going to Florida with his school band and said he will have an amazing time.

Shawne is survived by her last of 3 oldest sisters, Traci (Joel) Maynard, and her younger, but not small brother Mark Dorstad and brother Douglas Bovee.  She also is survived by her stepfather Richard Bovee, stepsister Aprille (Bill)Beyer, stepbrothers Dustin and Paul Bovee.  Not to mention all her nieces and nephews that she loved very much and which with 2 of them she shared the July 4th birthday with and others she shared hilarious times with while they lived with her.

Shawne is proceeded in death by her father Allan T Dorstad; Mother Karen Lee Bovee; sisters: Terri Bundermann, Lori Rantala and Kimberly Piersig; and infant niece Charlotte Pecchia; all her grandparents; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

I want to ESPECIALLY thank her rock, her daughter, Bianca Lynn Geisdorf for doing all that you did for you mom who is my younger Sissy.  I want to thank Karin Christian for her years of friendship and being Shawne’s best roommate EVER. You are now family.  I want to thank Shawne’s long-time friend since school days, Anna Rinas, for being there for her and getting all the equipment we needed for her to be comfortable at her home. Not to mention taking care of her.  Thank you all from both of us, Traci and Mark.

Shawne told me in a conversation to add this if I wrote her obituary like she asked me to: she doesn’t want us to stay sad forever, but to remember the goofy, hilarious, fun, times because she WILL be watching from above.
