Martin Chupurdia, age 84, longtime resident of Hibbing died peacefully on August 2nd surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 21, 1939 in Hibbing the son of Sam and Betty (Pasich) Chupurdia.
He was a graduate of Hibbing High School, and attended the University of Minnesota Duluth. He also served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967. He was united in marriage to Phyllis R. Chupurdia on September 28, 1968 in Hibbing. A beloved husband of 49 years, an adored father, a doting grandfather, and loyal friend, those that he loved will be forever better for it.
He was a lifelong ironworker running his own fabrication company for many years before working for Hibbing Taconite Company where he eventually retired. He kept busy in his retirement through various projects on his hunting land or in his garage always building an even bigger barbeque.
He is survived by his daughter: Michele Stromgren (Andrew); son: Chad Chupurdia (Jodi); two grandchildren: and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service Wednesday August 30, 2023 at the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home. Greg Anderson will officiate.
Inurnment will be in the Hibbing Park "Maple Hill" Cemetery where he will join to rest with his wife, Phyllis.
