Mary Jean Podpeskar died on Thursday, August 28, 2025.  She was born on June 12, 1949 to Homer and Marjorie (Moore) Jameson in St Paul, MN.  She graduated from St. Paul Central High School and later married Lee Podpeskar.  Throughout the years they lived in Hawaii, Wausau, WI and Virginia MN. 

Mary was the proprietor of the Kap N Kork liquor store located in Virginia.     She loved cooking, gardening and caring for her grandchildren. 

Mary is survived by her son Jay Podpeskar (Melisssa Giersdorf) of Britt, MN; granddaughters: Jordan Skalko and Hayden Skalko of Virginia, MN; sister Julie (Dan) Tierney of St Paul, MN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Podpeskar; daughter Tracy Podpeskar; brother Charles (Chuck) Jameson; and boyfriend Rich Ritacco.

Services for Mary will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Bauman-Cron Funeral Home in Virginia, MN. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and continue until the 12:00 PM Memorial Service.  A celebration of Mary’s life will follow at the Virginia Elk’s Club.
