Michael Nicholas Huseby

Michael Nicholas Huseby, age 81of Embarrass died peacefully in his sleep at home on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.  He was born September 27, 1941 in Cook, the son of Oliver and Fannie (Maki) Huseby and attended Cook High School, Virginia Junior College and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Mike enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1963. He married Patricia Niemi in 1963 and they divorced in 1983. He married Gloria Michlitsch in 1993. Mike lived in Cook, Two Harbors, Spring Lake Park, East Bethel, Osseo and Virginia prior to moving to Embarrass. He was employed at Reserve Mining Company, Tes-Com, and Eveleth Taconite as an Industrial Engineer and finished his working career as an Assessor for the City of Eveleth. Mike was a member of the Lake Vermilion Sportsmen’s Club and loved Lake Vermilion where he built a beautiful cabin. He was a jack-of-all trades who could fix anything; he had a helping heart and was always there to help anyone; he loved to read and was an avid fisherman.

            Mike is survived by his wife: Gloria; children: Jeffrey Huseby of Hugo and Laura Huseby of Minneapolis; step-children: Bradley Marinaro of Eveleth and Anthony Marinaro of Hibbing; grandchildren: Jacob and Jerik; step-grandchildren: Hannah, Kristina, Brianna, Anthony Jr and Chloe; great-grandchildren: Ophelia and Lumi; and step-great-grandson: William; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Kirsten Huseby, Donna Rautiola, Jerry Huseby and Jeffrey Huseby.

            A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023 at the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home in Virginia. Reverend Doug Wallace will officiate.
