Nancy Jean Sampson, age 83, longtime resident of Hibbing died Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Hibbing.  She was born September 23, 1941, in Hibbing the daughter of Lloyd and Ruth (Holmberg) Stavn.  She was a graduate of Hibbing High School and The Hibbing Community College Nursing Program.  Nancy was united in marriage to Thomas Sampson on May 5, 1962, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing, MN.

            Nancy worked as an RN at the Hibbing Hospital for more than 25 years.  She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and served in the Circles there.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and playing golf.

            Nancy is survived by her husband: Tom; children: Lynda Sampson of Edina, MN, Amy (Jamie) O’Brien of Farmington, MN, and Mark Sampson of St. Louis Park, MN; daughter-in-law: Claudia Sampson of New Orleans, LA; sister: Karen (Richard) Paquette of Faribault, MN; best friend: Judy Raukar; and numerous extended family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son: Jeffrey in 2023.

            A private service will be held in the Pilgrim’s Chaple of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.  The Reverend Kevin Olson will officiate.  Inurnment will be in the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Columbarium.
