Nathan Daniel Jaus, age 39, longtime resident of Chisholm died Thursday, January 4, 2024.  He was born January 9, 1984, in New Ulm, MN, the son of Martin and Loretta (Lohman) Jaus.  He was a graduate of GFW High School.  Nathan was united in marriage to Hannah Sager on September 6, 2014, on the Jaus Family Farm.

            Nathan worked as a Truck Operator for Hibbing Taconite.  He loved spending time outdoors – hunting, fishing, exploring, boating, picking berries, harvesting maple syrup, and making jams and jellies.  He enjoyed tinkering with his machines and tractors, and gardening outside.  He loved operating heavy equipment and spent the last three years building their dream home with his own hands.

            Nathan loved his family.  He and Ava had a close bond, and he was always teaching her about the outdoors and nature.  They enjoyed picking rocks/agates and stargazing together.

            Nate is survived by his wife: Hannah; daughter: Ava; his parents: Martin (Loretta) Jaus; siblings: Heather (Matt) Kieger, and Kevin (Nicole) Jaus; parents-in-law: Nathan (Rita-Rae) Sager and numerous nieces and nephews.

            He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Roman (Lois) Jaus; and his maternal grandmother: Adele Lohman.

            A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
